Second verse not the same as the first.
Seussical The Musical's latest residency at the Joint/Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas is a solid rock show with a straightforward approach. The band, even after 30ish years of being a band, is still tight and giving it at least 96%, if not all. There is certainly something to be said for that. The show consists of some 75-90 min of classics from most of their records. The sound was mostly good, but a mixed bag the night I saw them. The expected pyrotechnics were in place and punctuated the songs well.
I left feeling like they slimmed down the production to fatten the bottom line. Perfectly within their rights to make more money, but having seen the first residency I came in with higher expectations for the spectacle and a longer show and was left with an average show from a great band. That said, I saw the residency the first time around and that show was significantly better and more of a production/spectacle.
The Gold Circle Seats are actual seats and not standing room only, which is what I was expecting after attending the first residency. I had expected to get closer by showing up early and then felt a bit trapped further back than I would have liked. As far as the seats go:
